Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.
By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.
The Practice has an electronic link to the laboratory at the local Hospital.
To receive test results, please contact the Practice during normal surgery hours. The receptionist will be happy to inform you of the test results reported by the doctor.
For reasons of confidentiality, information will not be given to another person unless prior permission has been given.
A doctor is always available for emergencies between 08.45 and 17:30
The Practice operates an appointment system only which includes a range of appointment times throughout the working day (with the exception of lunch time when the surgery is closed).
The receptionist will always try to accommodate your choice of doctor but this may not always be possible. Waiting times for a specific doctor appointment will vary due to holiday periods etc.
Please inform us if you cannot attend your appointment so that we may release it to another patient.
An appointment system is also in operation at the Treatment Room during normal surgery hours.
Patient's who require an "unplanned" appointment, ie an appointment on the same day for an acute problem can be accommodated in the morning. The number of same day appointments may vary each day due to the number of GPs on duty.
If you cannot wait for a routine appointment and wish to avail of a same day appointment, you will need to give some information to the receptionist in order that she may book you an appointment slot.
Not all acute problems need to be dealt with by the GP. Many simple acute problems fit into the Minor Ailments catgegory and can easily be treated by the Pharmacist. Such problems include Athletes Foot, Diarrhoea, Threadworms, Vaginal Thrush, Mouth Ulcers, Oral Thrush, Jock Itch, Cold Sores, Ear Wax and Head Lice.
We would urge you to think about your ailments and use the most appropriate Health Care Professional when feeling unwell. Effective use of resources will help create appointment slots for those most in need. The Receptionist is trained to advise you of this when you telephone the surgery.

The receptionist will ask for your name, address and telephone number and may also ask a few questions to help the doctor decide the urgency of the call.
