Update on Shielding Advice

diaryThe Practice operates a Same Day appointments service (unless asked to attend for review by the GP)  Please telephone the surgery early morning to obtain a same day appointment slot, usually allocated between 9-12 midday.

It may not always be possible to accommodate your request for a specific doctor but we will endeavour, where possible, to ensure continuity of care.

Appointments still exist for the various clinics operated by the GPs and the Practice Nurse.

If you are asked to attend for a review appointment with the GP as a result of recent investigations etc, your appointment is likely to be in the afternoon.

Please inform us if you cannot attend your appointment so that we may release it to another patient.

An appointment system is also in operation at the Treatment Room each day, during normal surgery hours.

Minor Ailments

Not all acute problems need to be dealt with by the GP.  Many simple acute problems fit into the Minor Ailments category and can easily be treated by the Pharmacist.  Such problems include Athletes Foot, Diarrhoea, Threadworms, Vaginal Thrush, Mouth Ulcers, Oral Thrush, Jock Itch, Cold Sores, Ear Wax and Head Lice.

We would urge you to think about your ailments and use the most appropriate Health Care Professional when feeling unwell.  Effective use of resources will help create appointment slots for those most in need.  The Receptionist is trained to advise you of this when you telephone the surgery.

Family Planning

A full range of contraceptive services is provided at the Practice.  Please speak to the Receptionist who will advise you of clinic availability.  For alternative contraceptive advice please contact eh Family Planning Service on 02828 266163, Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm.

If you are suffering from a dental problem, please make contact with your registered dentist.  In the event that you are not registered with a Dentist or the Dental surgery is closed, you can attend the Out of Hours Dental Treatment Service, Wing F, Outpatients Department, Belfast City Hospital.  Opening times are 7pm - 9.15pm each evening and in addition 10-12.15pm Saturday and Sunday.  Please note that NHS charges apply to this service.
