DO NOT LEAVE TRAVEL VACCINATIONS TO THE LAST MINUTE!
The Practice has a limited number of appointments available for travel consultations. Please make contact with the Practice as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in us not being able to accommodate your request for advice/vaccinations due to the short time frame. Ideally you should give us 6 weeks notice prior to travelling.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below.
If you require foreign travel advice, you need to complete a travel questionnaire (See link below) If you do not have access to a computer, please call to the surgery to collect a questionnaire. Once completed, please return via email or hand it to the Receptionist. Please ensure your telephone number is listed. The Practice HCA, Susanna Millen will make contact with you to discuss the necessary arrangements. You will be required to attend the surgery on at least one occasion for a travel consultation with the Practice Nurse. Please note that appointments are limited.
Most routine travel vaccinations are issued to patients via prescription which should be taken to the chemist for dispensing. It is your responsibility to store the vaccines in line with the manufactures guidance until they are administered by the Practice Nurse. When the Nurse is required to give advice regarding certain areas of travel and vacciniations outside normal NHS work, a charge will be made for this service.
