NEW: Pharmacy First for Sore Throat
Do you, or you child have a sore throat? Did you know you can now visit your local pharmacy free of charge, who can assess, advise and treat if necessary?
*children must be aged over 5 years old, and not be suffering from any other symptoms such as chesty cough or sore ear.

NEW: Pharmacy First for Symptoms of Shingles
Shingles is an infection which presents with:
- a tingling or painful feeling in an area of skin
- a headache or feeling generally unwell
A rash will usually appear a few days later on your chest or tummy.
If you are over 18 years old, otherwise healthy and develop any of these symptoms, your local pharmacy can now diagnose and treat shingles free of charge.
This service has been introduced to:
- Provide a more accessible, efficient and high-quality clinical pathway for patients with shingles.
- Better use pharmacist skills and free up GP time for more complex and urgent medical issues.
